Description

Begin an incredible one-day adventure to Cotopaxi from Quito, and one of our friendly guides will pick you up at your hotel or Airbnb in the city. From here our day of adventure and discovery begins as we travel along the well-known 'Avenue of the Volcanoes' on the Panamerican Highway, on our way to Cotopaxi National Park. The first visit of the day is to the Mirador de Quito, an ideal spot to admire the panoramic beauty of the city of Quito. Then we will continue to the heart of Cotopaxi Park, the moor welcomes us with a large amount of vegetation and the beautiful Limpiopungo lagoon, a natural mirror where the imposing Cotopaxi volcano is reflected. Upon entering the park you will visit the Interpretation Center 'La Mariscal' at 11811 ft of altitude, where the richness of Ecuadorian flora and fauna is shown everywhere. Arrive at the Cotopaxi volcano parking lot, and from here we will begin the tour of the Andean paramo and its volcanic history. The panoramic view from this altitude will leave you breathless and if we are lucky we will see some of the emblematic snow-capped mountains such as Corazón, Rumiñahui, and the imposing Chimborazo. At the refuge, you can enjoy a cup of tea or hot chocolate. On the way back, explore the Limpiopungo Lagoon, located at the foot of the volcano. This trail offers a connection with nature and the incredible surroundings that we are not used to. The tour ends with a typical lunch in a local restaurant overlooking Cotopaxi and the return to Quito.
