Description

Embark on a day trip to the Mindo Cloud Forest from Quito. Admire the Pululahua Volcano, visit the butterfly farm, and hike to the Nambillo Waterfall. Enjoy a cable car ride and taste some delicious chocolate. Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Quito and head towards the northwest of Pichincha Province. Cross some climatic floors and stop at the Pululahua Volcano. From a panoramic viewpoint, observe the crater of the majestic volcano. Observe some native plants such as bromeliads, orchids, and some medicinal species. Feed hummingbirds from your hands and see toucans, tanagers, aguties, squirrels, orchids, and bromeliads. After birding in San Tadeo, arrive at Mindo town and immediately go to the butterfly farm. Learn about the butterflies' anatomy and reproduction in their natural state. Continue to the cloud forest and be part of some trails to the waterfalls route. Take a cable car to pass to another section of the cloud forest and take a hike to the Nambillo waterfall or ruta de las Cascadas (Waterfall Route). Afterward, enjoy lunch in a great, quiet, and beautiful place. Finally, learn about and taste some of the best artisanal chocolate in Mindo. Head back to Quito around 6:30 PM.
