Description

Embark on a 4-day trekking adventure along the Quilotoa Loop, Ecuador’s premier multi-day trekking route. Traverse diverse climatic zones and landscapes, culminating at the stunning turquoise Quilotoa Lagoon. Day 1: Begin your journey with a pickup from Quito and head south on the Pan-American Highway. Stop for coca tea and a view of the Grand Canyon of the Toachi River. Depending on your acclimatization, either enjoy a short hike to a waterfall or relax with scenic stops before reaching Sigchos City for your overnight stay. Day 2: Trek from Sigchos to Chugchilán, crossing the 'Toachi River' GreatCanyon. Choose between a longer trail alongside the river or a shorter route along the mountain range. Spend the night in Chugchilán. Day 3: Hike from Chugchilán to Quilotoa, exploring the northern slopes of the Quilotoa Volcano. Discover the historic communities thriving in the Western paramos of the Andean Cordillera. Stay overnight in Quilotoa. Day 4: Trek to the Quilotoa Lagoon, descending to the Lagoon Dock at 3,500 meters above sea level. Enjoy optional activities like kayaking or motorboating on the lagoon. After lunch, return to Quito.
