Description
Day 1: Depart Quito at 7:00 AM, traveling south along the Pan-American Highway, also called the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Arrive in Baños de Agua Santa around 10:30 AM. This town lies between the central Andes and the Ecuadorian Amazon, near the Tungurahua volcano crater and 30 minutes from Ambato. Baños offers natural attractions and opportunities for adventure sports alongside comfortable accommodations.
Begin the Waterfall Route tour, a 15-kilometer trail featuring scenic landscapes and several waterfalls, including the renowned Pailón del Diablo. The route also includes stops at Agoyán, Manto de la Novia waterfall, and a Tarabita cable car ride.
Accommodation is provided at Hotel Sangay (or similar) in a Standard Double Room. Lunch is included. Breakfast and dinner are not included.
Day 2: After breakfast, visit the village of Runtún at 2,660 meters (8,727 ft.), home to the Casa del Árbol treehouse, ideal for viewing the Tungurahua volcano. The morning is free for optional extreme activities such as canopy, canyoning, and rafting. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Quito, including a stop at a traditional sweets factory.
