Bongo Bar
Ecuador
Although only a small local establishment, Bongo Bar attracts a good-sized crowd every night. A popular Santa Cruz hangout, here you can meet local guides, tourists and travelers, who come for a drink and lively night. This is not a bar for a quiet chat; the music is often very loud and later on in the night it's likely people will start dancing on the tables!
Bongo Bar entertains like every good bar should. It has an excellent and very popular pool table; large flat-screen TVs showing music videos or clips from the island; and regular live music, from chilled out acoustic sets to rocking Latino beats. The night-spot is definitely the place to be in Santa Cruz if you're after a wild evening out.
For a more relaxed night, turn up early and sip cocktails on the leafy veranda, where it's quiet and softly-lit. Drinks range from spirits and beers, to cocktails and shots. Expect to spend between $2.50 and $5 for an average drink.
Walk down Charles Darwin Street to reach Bongo Bar; you'll see 'La Panga' discotheque - from there walk through a small white archway and you'll see the Bongo Bar sign.
