Description
Your day starts with an early pickup from your hotel or hostel in designated Quito areas. A brief stop in Machachi allows time for snacks or restroom use before continuing to Cotopaxi National Park.
The first stop is Limpiopungo Lagoon, a glacial lake at the base of Cotopaxi Volcano, offering excellent photo opportunities. Next, visit the Interpretation Center to learn about the park’s wildlife, geology, and history.
Afterward, prepare for a one-hour hike to the José Rivas Refuge at 4,864 meters above sea level. Dress warmly and be ready for the effects of high altitude. The refuge provides scenic viewpoints worth photographing.
Following the hike, there is a lunch break at a local restaurant with vegetarian options available. Lunch is not included in the tour price.
