Description

You will be picked up from your hotel and transported to Cotopaxi National Park. The drive ascends to 4,500 meters above sea level, where your hike begins near the José Rivas refuge. Along the route, stop at several viewpoints to appreciate the surrounding landscapes.

Your trek continues to Limpiopungo Lagoon, known for its clear waters that reflect the sky. Wildlife sightings may include the Andean fox, deer, rabbits, and birds such as the Cara Cara Curiquinge, Andean gulls, and coots. Your guide will help identify these species during the walk.

Photo opportunities abound with views of forests, mountains, and ravines. A typical Ecuadorian lunch is available to refuel. After the hike, you will be returned to your hotel. Note that the mandatory guide fee is US$60 per group.
