Description
Begin your day at 8:00 AM with breakfast at Café San Sebas, enjoying fresh coffee while immersing in the city's morning atmosphere. After breakfast, take a leisurely walk through Cuenca’s historic center to visit churches and admire their architecture. Climb to the highest point of the Cathedral for panoramic views over the city, then explore Parque Calderón, a central gathering place where locals relax and street performances occur.
Discover hidden streets and local shops alongside your host, gaining a resident's perspective of Cuenca. At 12:30 PM, lunch is served at El Guajibamba, where you can try traditional dishes like cuy (guinea pig) or other typical local foods if preferred. After lunch, visit Helados La Tienda for ice cream before heading to Mercado 10 de Agosto to participate in a traditional “limpia con huevo” ritual, cleansing negative energy with local women.
Next, drive to Turi viewpoint for expansive views of Cuenca and a chance to try the swing overlooking the valley.
