Description

The tour begins at Panecillo Hill, where you get panoramic views of Quito. Next, you stop briefly at the Basilica Church to view the Colonial Center. Walk through colonial streets to Independence Plaza to see the Cathedral and Government Palace.

Continue to The Company Church, The Sagrario Church, and San Francisco Church, built in the 17th century. After exploring historical sites, take the cable car from over 13,000 feet (4,000 m), enjoying views of valleys, snow-capped mountains, and Quito.

In the afternoon, visit Mitad del Mundo about 50 minutes northwest of Quito. At the Intiñan Museum, participate in experiments demonstrating the equator's unique effects, such as balancing an egg on a nail or observing water drain direction changes.
