Description
The tour begins with pickup from your Quito hotel or Quito airport. Stop to acclimatize with coca tea, buy Andean snacks or drinks, or have breakfast if needed.
Visit the volcanic valley and Limpiopungo Lagoon within Cotopaxi National Park, located at 3,800 meters (12,467 ft). Here you can view the Cotopaxi volcano, Ecuador's second highest peak.
After exploring Cotopaxi, travel south along the Panamericana Highway to Pujilí and onward to the Western Mountain Range, home to Quilotoa Lagoon in Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve.
The drive passes local Andean communities before arriving at Quilotoa, at 3,850 meters (12,631 ft). Explore scenic viewpoints, a craft market, shops, restaurants, and cafés in the community.
Enjoy free time for lunch in Quilotoa (not included) and admire the Quilotoa Volcanic Lagoon from a viewpoint.
