Description
The tour begins at 8:00 AM with pickup from your hotel or location in Riobamba. You will travel about 1.5 hours to Chimborazo Volcano, reaching an altitude of 4,800 meters (14,400 feet) where you will stop for acclimatization and enjoy a canyon viewpoint.
From this point, you can hike for about one hour to the second refuge located between 5,000 and 5,100 meters (approximately 15,000 to 15,300 feet). Alternatively, you may stay at the first refuge to rest, take photos, and learn about Chimborazo's history.
After hiking, you will receive your bike, helmet, and protective gear to begin a 12 km downhill ride from the volcano.
Following the bike ride, the tour includes a traditional lunch served at a local family restaurant.
The tour concludes with transport back to your hotel or bus terminal in Riobamba. Optional drop-off in Baños is available for an additional cost.
