Description

Begin your journey with a stop at Limpiopungo Lagoon, where your certified guide provides an overview of the local flora and landscape, allows time for acclimatization, and equips you with your hiking gear (waterproof jacket, gloves, buff, and trekking poles). Next, drive up to the volcano’s parking lot in a private SUV/jeep to start the trek. Fully equipped, ascend alongside your guide, who will share essential pacing tips for high altitude. Take a break at the José Rivas Refuge to warm up with a hot drink before continuing the hike to the 5,000-meter mark. After reaching the point, descend back to the parking area and exit the park for a traditional lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in Quito.
