Cotopaxipungo Ranch Hotel

CotopaxiPungo is Kichwa for 'entrance to the Cotopaxi'. The hotel is located some 30 kilometers (20 miles) south of Quito (approximately a 2-hour drive due to the road) on the northeastern skirts of the Pasochoa volcano, and enjoys a great view of the Cotopaxi and some other mountains of the Avenue of the Volcanoes. It was built not long ago combining ancestral methods with colonial Spanish architectural design. All of its 20 rooms feature great views of the surrounding landscape.

The hotel has a restaurant and offers a variety of activities to explore and enjoy the mountains: horseback riding, mountain biking, canopy, trekking, visits to the Cotopaxi National Park, besides the in situ activities as a working small cattle ranch.
