Ecuador
Museums and Zoos
Located in downtown Guayaquil, this museum has an important colonial art collection of paintings and sculpture from the 1500s to the nineteenth century.
Approximately 2500 artworks from the Colonial and Republican eras of Ecuador, that belonged to the late philanthropist Nahim Isaías Barquet's collection and now belong to the Central Bank, are exhibited on the third floor of this modern building.
The first floor houses the exhibition 'Vientos de Ría', a historic display of the old province of Guayaquil and the birth and development of its capital, the port city of Guayaquil.
The second floor is reserved for temporary exhibitions.
