La Riviera Ristorante
Ecuador
La Riviera is a fine restaurant with a long tradition of serving Italian cuisine in Guayaquil. The establishment is a member of Slow Food International, a movement that promotes the heritage, traditions and culture of food; this is what forms the most part of La Riviera's philosophy and makes its food so authentically good.
Luigi and Angela Passano and their son Paolo are passionate about serving Italian cuisine that would be just as revered back in Italy. The restaurant boasts an extensive menu of pastas, fish and meat, and exquisitely prepared desserts, plus a selection of great quality Italian wines.
Pizzas are cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven, and you can choose from classics such as margherita and funghetti, or go for the super option of any Italian ingredient you can think of thrown on. There are also some great seafood dishes available; being on the coast, fresh catches arrive daily, so the seafood here is top notch. Try the fresh tuna, grilled tilapia in curry sauce, or sea bass fillet with pesto potatoes. You'll notice that a few dishes have touches of Ecuadorian cuisine.
La Riviera Ristorante enjoys a great location on Victor Emilio Estrada Ave, in the 'Pink Zone' of Guayaquil, and has a covered terrace to enjoy an outdoor meal, weather permitting. On the second floor, Da Luigi, a salon with a capacity for about 40 people, offers a private setting for groups, with a special gourmet menu.
