Directions to Carlos Zevallos Menéndez Pre-Columbian Art Museum
This museum opened its doors in the 1950s, when Carlos Zevallos Menéndez donated his private archaeology collection to the Casa de la Cultura, hence the museum's name. It is located very near the main downtown area of Guayaquil.
The Pre-Columbian Art Museum has three halls exhibiting pieces belonging to the Pre-Columbian cultures of Ecuador. Musical instruments, monolithic figures, ceramic objects, and a unique collection of gold and silver pieces are there to be admired and to tell about the extraordinary development of these cultures.
Admission is $1 for general public, 50 cents for seniors and disabled, and children under 12 and public school students don't pay.
