This tourist complex is one of the main attractions in Quito, with the monument of the Middle of the World which marks the crossing of the Equator line (latitude 0°0'0').
The complex was built in the form of a typical Ecuadorian small town, where the houses work as restaurants and handicraft shops. There's also a post office and tourist information.
The monument itself houses the Ethnographical Museum that has nine levels with exhibitions of different kinds, all around the Equator line and Ecuador. The last level serves as viewpoint to the surroundings. There is also a planetarium where different projections are shown every hour. And the most recent addition is the Enthomological Museum or Insectarium, an interesting visit for young and old.
For special occasions and holidays, dance shows, concerts and other events are organized in the City, watch for those.
