The Pululahua volcano is about 15 km north of Quito. It hasn't been active for 4000 years and its crater is the largest and the only inhabited one in the continent. Its soil is rich and fertile and is home to great biodiversity, which is why the area was declared a geobotanical reserve. The Green Horse Ranch has an ideal location inside the crater, a base from where all the area's beautiful landscapes and richness can be explored.
The Green Horse Ranch specializes in horseback riding tours and trips through the Andean mountains since 1995. Their 30 horses, named after characters of 'The Lord of the Rings' , have all different personalities. At the Ranch, they will always try to assign the best suited horse to each rider.
You can choose from different routes through forests, canyons, valleys or mountains, and several tour-length options are also available. If you choose a several-day trip, overnight stays are basic but comfortable.
The Green Horse Ranch will take care of every detail for you (they will even provide you with riding boots!). Your only obligation is to live the experience to the fullest!
