Part of the Red Mangrove Galapagos lodges, the restaurant shares the same beautifully designed building on the waterfront of Puerto Ayora. Built to blend into the surrounding mangrove forest, the Red Mangrove Restaurant is a tranquil retreat, and offers fantastic views over Pelican Bay.
The restaurant itself is relaxed and welcoming, with almost a beach bar vibe, as it is so open to the fresh air and sea views. Request a table by the waterfront for the best al fresco dining experience.
The restaurant menu primarily focuses on sushi platters, with delicious offerings of sashimi and maki rolls, as well as yakitori, nigiri and and temaki. The sushi is made with fresh local seafood and is very highly regarded, so worth a taste even if it's not your usual choice.
Red Mangrove also serve a variety of Asian soups and main courses, and plenty of national and international dishes, such as salads and sandwiches. Seafood cocktails feature further down the menu, for those that love their shellfish - and these are followed by an array of exotic local desserts.
