Samurai Sushi is a restaurant well worth a visit if you are in the area; the venue may be the only place serving sushi in Banos, and indeed the whole province of Tungurahua. Sushi, although relatively popular in Ecuador, is of course overshadowed by local cuisine, and its a pleasure to encounter such a fine menu of sashimi and nigiri in such a remote area.
The menu at Samurai Sushi is of course heavily focused on sushi rolls and large platters which are perfect for sharing. The Japanese know how to eat raw fish and make it taste good, and this is a welcome display of Asian cuisine, very far from its actual geographical location.
The prices are surprisingly affordable - as sushi can be charged at a premium - and the interior is comforting and stylish. The restaurant is a great place to meet, chat and eat with friends. There is also a WiFi connection so you can browse the internet - why not upload pictures of your delicious platters, to tempt your friends!
